In the fourth iteration of its EVXperience Report, Zenith found that 23.7% of internal combustion (ICE) drivers never plan to switch to an electric vehicle (EV).

A further 25.6% said they have no imminent plan to switch, while 72% of current EV drivers said they would not switch back to an ICE vehicle.

88% of EV drivers said they are happy with their EV and 70% said they are now comfortable taking their EV on longer journeys.

Zenith found that 93% of EV drivers use it as their primary vehicle.

The report found that the overall Kei Experience Indicator (KEI) score for EVs is now 8.05, the highest number since 2023.

Satisfaction with range increased from 6.86 last year to 7.68.

Andy Wolff, managing director of the corporate division at Zenith, said: “We’re excited to share the results of our fourth EVXperience Report – our clearest snapshot yet of what life with an EV really looks like for drivers across the UK.

“This year’s results show clear progress in how drivers experience their vehicles, from rising confidence in range, to consistently strong satisfaction of the safety and quality of the drive.

“As the market continues to shift, towards electric, our EVX Report provides valuable clarity on what’s working well, and where further support is needed to accelerate the transition.

“We’re proud to share these insights, and there’s plenty more to come. We’ll be releasing additional insights and deeper analysis in the coming weeks.”

Zenith surveyed 3,000 of its EV drivers as part of the EVXperience Report.
