AFP shared charging scheme reaches 15 London boroughs

The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has celebrated a milestone with its shared charging scheme, which is now available in 15 London boroughs.

The shared charging network is operated by AFP partner Evata and covers 15 of London’s 33 boroughs.

Evata uses telematics to identify each fleet’s needs, then matches it up with a privately-owned facility within the AFP network.

Fleets can then access convenient, lower-cost charging through a self-serve mobile app.

The AFP reported that the shared charging scheme has been gathering momentum in recent months.

Paul Hollick, chair at the AFP, said: “We’ve been having conversations with a number of large operators across London that have opened the door to much wider coverage.

“In an area with a high level of electric vehicle (EV) use, it strengthens our offering by providing a fast, easy-to-access, lower cost charging option.

“At a point in time when access to charging is still probably the major block to EV adoption for the majority of fleets, shared charging offers a viable third option in addition to home and highway facilities.
