AFP to hold webinar on attracting young people into fleet
It will be held on 23rd March at 3pm, with speakers from the AFP, Openreach and Futures for All.
The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has announced a webinar that will focus on using work experience to attract young people into fleet.
It will be held on 23rd March at 3pm, with speakers including AFP training manager Ronnie Gillman, Openreach fleet director Judy O’Keefe and Ian Cooper, head of business development at Futures for All.
Futures for All is a social mobility charity that helps young people at schools and colleges access real-world experiences.
The session will cover simple steps to get involved in work experience, why it matters more than ever, the role of AFP members in increasing the appeal of fleet careers and how Futures for All can support businesses through the work experience process.
Matt Hammond (pictured), vice chair at the AFP, said: “It is vital we attract new blood into the fleet sector and for some time, we’ve been working on ways to reach young people in order to raise awareness of a career in the industry and the great opportunities it brings.
“This has included visiting schools and continuing the process to create an apprenticeship standard for the sector.
“Work experience is a key element of this outreach and many AFP members tell us they would like to open up their doors but need advice on how to connect with schools and ensure the at-work time they offer is appealing and rewarding for those taking part.
“These are key questions we’ll be answering in this webinar.
