  • P11D value £38,470

  • Company car tax @ 20%/40% pa £928/£1,856

  • In life average economy 46.8mpg

I KNOW it’s not a convincing reason for buying any type of car, but heated seats really are awesome.

As, indeed, they are on my Audi A6 2.0 TDI ultra Black Edition model. OK, there’s not been much in the way of cold weather but I still use them (and keep the rest of the ambient temperature lower).

But especially after some exercise down the gym or on the tennis courts, heated seats really do ease away some of the aches in your legs.

The seats themselves are especially supportive. And that’s part of what makes the Audi A6 such a great long distance business package.

The relaxed, unfussed quality of the engine and S tronic auto combination, which slips surreptitiously through its cogs, mean miles are shrugged off with ease.

The suspension is firm, but noticeably supple so that the ride remains pliant and cosseting. And lets you get on with the driving, listening to the DAB digital radio, or taking hands-free calls on the Bluetooth equipped central console.

It all makes for a first rate business class carriage. And in the special Black Edition, it looks business class, too.

Business finance calculator

If you fancy an Audi A6 ultra in Black Edition spec – or any other spec come to that – then Audi has recently launched its own finance calculator aimed at small businesses and company car drivers.

Not only does it give you a monthly business car lease rental but P11D and benefit in kind company car tax exposure, too.

It’s simple and slick to use: it allows you to compare different cars, and change the length of the contract hire agreement, the amount of deposit, whether you want to include maintenance in the monthly rental, and so on.

Once you’ve made your choice you can then submit your choice to your nearest Audi Centre which will pick up the request with you.

For example, the Audi A6 ultra Black Edition s tronic auto I’m driving costs  £360 a month (ex VAT) on a 36-month / 30,000-mile contract with six months up front from Audi Finance.

That’s a lot of sophisticated Audi for the money.

“The new business finance calculator is aimed at taking complexity and time consumption out of the Audi small business customer experience,” Tom Brennan – Audi’s national contract hire & leasing manager – explained to me.

“Other convenient tools available for SMEs and user choosers include the free Audi mileage tracker app for recording business trips on the road and the informative Audi UK ‘fleet management basics’ video series offering useful advice on aspects such as calculating private fuel and a breakdown of BIK.”

If  you’re thinking about trying an Audi for business, then check out the Audi finance calculator – especially the Audi A6 2.0 TDI ultra 190 PS s tronic model. You won’t be disappointed.
