Audi A6 and Mercedes E-Class most likely to be clocked, study finds
On average, E-Classes that had been clocked lost 130,680km, the highest of any car on the list.

A study by vehicle history checker, carVertical, has revealed that the Audi A6 and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class are the most likely vehicles to have altered mileage.
8.4% of Audi A6s checked by carVertical across Europe in 2024 had falsified mileage, with 8.3% of E-Classes also suffering.
On average, E-Classes that had been clocked lost 130,680km, the highest of any car on the list.
The Volkswagen Touareg followed (8.2%), with the BMW 5-series and Volkswagen Passat rounding out the top five, both with 7.7%.
In the UK specifically, the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter was the most likely to be clocked, with 4.7% of carVertical reports showing mileage discrepancies.
carVertical warned that the popularity of vans for delivery work leads to them often having higher mileages, causing some to be ‘rolled-back’ in search of higher resale value.
The biggest mileage discrepancy was in Spain, where a Mercedes-Benz V-Class lost 261,495km.
In Latvia, 30.2% of Volvo V70s checked by carVertical were found to have falsified mileages.
