Audi hopes to boost its electric vehicle numbers with a new entry-level version of the A6 e-tron.
Costing from £62,500, a reduction of £7,400 over the previous least-expensive version of the car, the entry-level e-tron will go on sale alongside an equally new twin-motor variant.
The new model, which will be available in both Sportback (saloon) and Avant (estate) variants, uses a single motor driving the rear wheels and a smaller 83kWh battery, producing up to 326hp and offering a maximum range of 382 miles (Sportback) and 361 miles (Avant).

This compares to the 380hp motor and 94.9kWh battery of the previous entry-level A6, which is now badged e-tron Performance and offers a range up to 463 miles.
Top speed in both Sportback and Avant variants is 130mph, and the 0-62mph time of 7.0 seconds can be cut to 6.0 seconds in both cars courtesy of standard-fit launch control function.
Both models have a maximum charging capacity of 225 kW and an 800-volt electrical system. Using an AC charging station or home charger delivering up to 11 kW, they can be fully charged from flat in eight hours and with an HPC fast-charger, charging from 10-80% takes 21 minutes.
Costing from £75,000, the new twin-motor versions of the A6 are designed to expand the car’s availability in quattro all-wheel-drive format beyond the flagship S6 e-tron. They employ a larger 100kWh battery pack and deliver up to 462hp. Both reach 62mph in 4.7 seconds, or 4.5 seconds with the help of launch control, and top speed is 130mph.
Like the new entry-level cars the twin-motor versions of the A6 will recharge their batteries from 10 to 80% in 21 minutes when using a suitable charger, and can add enough power to cover up to 192 miles in 10 minutes.
Dealers start taking orders for the new models from 31st October with first deliveries by the end of Q1 in 2025.
