Audi has revealed the A2 e-tron, an electric vehicle (EV) successor to its A2 hatchback of the early 2000s, with up to 401 miles of range.

UK orders are set to open in October, with prices from £32,200.

Three battery sizes are offered (51kWh, 61kWh, and 84kWh), with between 262 and 401 miles of range.

All models are rear wheel drive, with 170, 190, 231, or 326PS.

Charging speeds of up to 183kW are supported, allowing a 10% to 80% charge in as little as 24 minutes.

Vehicle-to-load (V2L) is supported, as is vehicle-to-home (V2H), which allows the car to power a home with a compatible DC charger.

Audi said the A2 e-tron is the most efficient model in its history.

Standard equipment includes an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.8-inch curved central display, and Fidlock, a magnetic system for attaching accessories such as cupholders or charging cable bags.

Optionally, the A2 e-tron offers a panoramic glass roof, Matrix LED headlights, ambient lighting, a Sonos sound system, and adjustable dampers.

Audi said that the A2 e-tron progressed from concept to series production 21 months faster than is typical for a new model.

It is built in Ingolstadt, Germany, alongside the A3 and utilises the ‘pearl chain’ production principle, where suppliers produce and pack parts in a fixed sequence, boosting production efficiency.

Gernot Döllner, CEO at Audi, said: “Our customers want electric mobility that impresses in everyday life. The A2 e-tron is our promise to deliver exactly that — efficient, compact, and thoughtfully designed down to the last detail.

“We’re making entry into the electric Audi world easier and more relevant than ever.”

First UK deliveries of the A2 e-tron are expected in early 2027.
