Volkswagen has launched two new versions of the ID.7 electric large saloon, extending its range between charges.

The Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S Match and ID.7 Tourer Pro S Match both employ an 86 kWh battery, compared with the 77 kWh battery in the already on-sale ID.7 Match versions. This boosts the WLTP-certified range to 437 miles for the fastback version and 425 miles for the Tourer and compares to around 380 miles in the ID.7 Match.

The Pro S Match models can also be charged at up to 200 kW DC, which with a suitable charger allows replenishment from 10 to 80% of the car’s battery in 26 minutes.

Both new models of the ID.7, which is effectively an electric version of Volkswagen’s long-running fleet favourite the Passat, come with the same specification as the existing versions.

Standard equipment includes a head-up display; Volkswagen’s latest infotainment software with a 15-inch screen; matrix headlights; three-zone air conditioning with smart vents;  heated front seats with massage functions and privacy glass in the rear.

They fastback has up to 1,586 of bootspace with the rear seats folded down and the Tourer 1,714 litres.

VW dealers are taking orders for the ID.7 Pro S Match and Pro S Match at prices from £55,450 and £56,140 on-the-road.
