An increase in SME car hire business has seen Eurocar partner Go Travel

A SURGE in SME car hire business has prompted sustainable travel specialist, Go Travel, to sign up to Europcar’s Partnership in a Box.

Europcar claims the agreement will offer access to the largest fleet and widest choice of vehicles in the UK to more than 69,000 employees across Leicester, Milton Keynes and Stevenage.

With a network of more than 200 locations across the UK and a fleet of over 45,000 cars and commercial vehicles, the agreement with Europcar will enable all members of the Smartgo sustainable travelnetworks in the three areas to make their car or van hire reservation online at discounted prices.

The move comes after the Guild of Travel Management’s first quarter transaction survey in May, which revealed car hire in the UK had increased by 17%.

Ken McCall, managing director, Europcar UK Group, said: “Partnership in a Box was developed by Europcar to make it easy for businesses to integrate car hire into their service offering.

“It has, therefore, given the Smartgo programme a great added value for the thousands of employees who use its services.

“Smartgo members simply click on our logo and are taken to a micro-site that offers all the same functionality as the main Europcar website where they can then make their car or van hire reservation quickly and easily with access to our comprehensive range of vehicles and locations.”

Robin Pointon, managing director of Go Travel Solutions added: “The Smartgo programmes focus on providing members with a range of choices for developing their business travel behaviours.

Car hire can reduce the hidden costs of private vehicle business travel for employers and offers a flexible alternative for employees.

We’re delighted to offer this service with Europcar to all of our Smartgo members.”

Go Travel claims the Smartgo programmes provide local employers and their staff with a range of travel benefits and services to help make commuting and business travel cheaper, easier and more sustainable. They offer a membership package that includes travel incentives and discounts, transport expertise and collaboration opportunities with other employers and transport providers.
