BVRLA launches digital tool to help drivers prepare leased vehicles for return
The free pilot has been developed in partnership with digital vehicle condition specialist Wondle.

The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (BVRLA) has launched a new digital guidance tool designed to help drivers better understand vehicle condition before returning their leased vehicle.
Called Return Ready, the free pilot has been developed in partnership with digital vehicle condition specialist Wondle and is available to customers of BVRLA members through the Consumer Advice section of the BVRLA website.
The tool allows drivers to compare damage they have already identified on their vehicle against the BVRLA’s Fair Wear & Tear Guide for Cars.
Where applicable, it provides the relevant guidance from the industry-standard guide to help customers decide whether remedial work may be appropriate before returning their vehicle.
The BVRLA said the initiative is intended to reduce uncertainty around the vehicle return process by giving customers more time to assess their vehicle and have informed discussions with their leasing provider.
Return Ready is designed as an educational tool and does not replace the formal vehicle inspection process. It does not provide repair cost estimates, apply individual leasing company standards, collect customer data or replace end-of-contract inspections.
The pilot will allow the BVRLA and Wondle to gather feedback from members and customers to support the future development of digital tools aimed at improving consistency and transparency during vehicle returns.
Simon Tebbutt, member services director at the BVRLA, said: “The Fair Wear & Tear Guide is the industry standard for vehicle returns, enabling all members and customers to have a consistent, transparent experience. Return Ready builds on that foundation by making the guidance more accessible and interactive.
