Calculator adds up low carbon route

A carbon calculator has been created to help business travellers choose low carbon travel options.

It compares the carbon costs of travel at the point of booking, alongside the financial cost. It can suggest less carbon intensive travel options.

A carbon calculator has been created to help business travellers choose low carbon travel options.

It compares the carbon costs of travel at the point of booking, alongside the financial cost. It can suggest less carbon intensive travel options.

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has developed the calculator. CWT is a business travel management company serving small, medium and large businesses.

The calculator will be rolled out first across Defra – the Department for Environment, Food and Rural affairs.

An online version is due to appear in April.

“Understanding the environmental impact of travel is becoming increasingly important to businesses. The calculator will help this process,” commented John Kingston, environment manager, Honda.

“However, ‘greening’ a fleet by making products such as the Civic Hybrid available to drivers will have a long-term positive impact.”
