ChargePoint has released the Flex Plus, an electric vehicle (EV) home charger designed specifically for company car drivers.
The Flex Plus is built on ChargePoint’s new AC charging architecture, which features dynamic load management, automatically accelerating charging speeds when power is not needed elsewhere in the building, enabling faster charging without infrastructure upgrades.
The charger can integrate with smart home technology, such as solar panels and batteries, and it has a backplate system that allows the charger to be moved easily, such as when a driver moves house.
Hossein Kazemi, chief technical officer for hardware at ChargePoint, said: “Fleet managers and company car drivers require a seamless experience to fully embrace their electric vehicles.
“The new Flex Plus charger pairs with ChargePoint’s Driver Management Solution to automatically reimburse company car drivers for home charging, making it easy for drivers and fleet managers to go electric.”
ChargePoint’s Driver Management Solution also allows fleet managers to view fleet-wide charging activity, and allows drivers to pay for charging at public chargers.
It also enables fleet managers to assign charging rules, and more easily onboard new EV company car drivers.
The Flex Plus is now open for ordering, with deliveries set to begin later in the summer.
