Telecommunications infrastructure provider Circet has cut emissions, improved driver safety and reduced fuel costs by rolling out a fully integrated Geotab and Lytx telematics solution across 3,000 vehicles in its UK and Ireland fleet.

Since the start of 2025, Circet recorded a 16% improvement in overall driver safety scores, with behaviours such as harsh braking, acceleration and cornering all reduced.

Average driver performance now exceeds industry benchmarks by 42%, helped by real-time feedback from in-vehicle dash cams and Geotab’s driver scorecard system.

Circet’s diesel fleet is operating 10% more efficiently than peer group leaders, with diesel vehicles achieving 10 litres per 100km on average.

The company’s growing electric fleet logged over 263,000 miles in the first quarter alone, and Geotab forecasts annualised savings of approximately £385,000 if more internal combustion engine vehicles are replaced with EVs where suitable.

Across all vehicle types, the telematics platform is projected to deliver more than £2.3m in fuel savings each year.

Ray Verschoyle, head of transport compliance at Circet, said: “The combined Geotab and Lytx Surfsight solution has transformed how we manage our fleet.

“We now have the data we need to improve safety, cut fuel use, lower maintenance costs and operate more sustainably.”

The deployment included on-site training and support from Geotab’s local project team to ensure a seamless transition.

The hardware includes Geotab devices and Lytx Surfsight cameras, both road- and driver-facing, with data fully integrated into Circet’s internal systems.

The solution also supports Circet’s sustainability goals. It uses certified Scope 1 emissions tracking and provides tools to monitor and reduce Scope 2 emissions by improving EV charging efficiency and range through targeted driver training.

Aaron Jarvis, associate vice president for EMEA at Geotab, said: “Circet chose Geotab because we offer more than just an off-the-shelf solution.

“Our open platform meant we could align closely with Circet’s internal systems and processes, while our partnership with Lytx allowed us to deliver fully integrated safety solutions.”

Circet is now exploring further integrations with its reporting systems and plans to use vehicle data to support wider business operations.
