2503 NEW CITROEN C3 HYBRID

Citroën has started taking orders for hybrid versions of its New C3 supermini, which is also being offered in petrol and full-electric form.

The 48-valve hybrid drivetrain, producing a combined power output of 110hp, is designed to permit driving in full-electric mode for short distances at lower speeds – Citroën estimates that in urban areas the car could typically spend half of its driving time as an all-electric vehicle.

Compared to the petrol version of the C3 the hybrid lowers fuel consumption by around 8-10mpg and cuts CO2 emissions by 10%. it is also faster than the petrol model, taking 9.8 seconds to reach 62mph compared to 10.6.

The new model is available in the same two trim levels, Plus and Max, as the rest of the new C3 range. Notable styling touches include a bespoke lighting signature with automatic LED headlights and LED daytime running lights as standard, 17-inch diamond cut bi-tone alloy wheels, a two-tone roof and interchangeable front and side colour clips with the intention of adding personalisation to the vehicle.

Inside, Citroën’s Advanced Comfort programme is a standard feature, including the latest generation seats with enhanced lateral support, and Advanced Comfort suspension with the brand’s patented Progressive Hydraulic Cushions, promising exceptional ride quality for all occupants.

All New C3 Hybrid models come with a 10.25-inch central touchscreen as standard, with wireless smartphone mirroring compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

New C3 Hybrid prices start from £20,115 on the road for the Plus variant, and from £21,815 for Max trim.   This compares to £22,095 for the cheapest all-electric C3.
