M&Y Construction has launched FleetCheck fleet management software, replacing its spreadsheet-based fleet management solution.

The firm operates a fleet of 228 cars and vans, and was worried about the risk of human error when managing the fleet through a series of spreadsheets.

The FleetCheck software will enable M&Y Construction to monitor the fleet’s servicing needs, minimising vehicle-off-road (VOR) times.

Justin Toole, fleet manager at M&Y Construction, said: “Whenever a breakdown occurs, it’s a major issue for us because our engineers have appointments scheduled all day and we don’t want to let customers down.”

“If a particular vehicle needs a service every two years or every 15,000 miles, FleetCheck reminds you when it’s due.”

FleetCheck also enables M&Y to ensure compliance, and generate a series of fleet reports, monitoring MOT and tax renewals, as well as driving license data.

Toole added: “Being ISO accredited, we must always be audit-ready, and the software is playing a fundamental role in demonstrating risk mitigation.

“When the auditors next visit, I’ll be confident because the system makes it easy to review everything and show we’re fully compliant.”

FleetCheck offers a suite of fleet and driver management solutions, managing more than 260,000 vehicles across 2,000 operators.

Peter Golding (pictured), CEO of FleetCheck, said: “Compliance and VOR are two areas where we have worked very hard to ensure our software meets and exceeds the needs of a wide variety of fleets, and we’re very pleased to see that it is proving so effective for M&Y.”
