Cupra Born gains range, loses touch controls on steering wheel

Models with the 58kWh battery have 279 miles of range, while models with the 79kWh battery have 372 miles of range.

Cupra has updated the Born, giving all models extra range, tweaked styling and more physical buttons on the steering wheel, in place of the touch-sensitive controls on the outgoing model.

Models with the 58kWh battery have 279 miles of range, while models with the 79kWh battery have 372 miles of range.

The Born has received new front and rear bumpers, triangular Matrix LED lights and an illuminated logo on the rear.

A larger 10.25-inch driver’s display has been fitted, as well as a head-up display.

Cupra has upgraded the sound system with Sennheiser Contrabass technology.

New advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) fitted to the Cupra Born include Travel Assist 3.0, Crossroad Assist and Precrash with rear detection.

The V1 model has the smaller battery and 190PS, while the V2 gains the 79kWh battery and 231PS.

The range-topping VZ has 326PS and the larger battery.
