Kia has officially launched its new light-commercial vehicle range at the CV Show in Birmingham, and revealed that prices for its PV5 Cargo van will start at £27,645 plus VAT.

Pre-orders open on 1st May for the PV5 Cargo, Kia’s first dedicated fully electric commercial vehicle which will be available in two lengths, two heights, with two battery options and two trim grades depending on body type.

Buyers will be able to select Cargo, Crew and Chassis Cab versions of the PV5 while Kia is also launching a passenger variant and a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle (WAV) derivative.

Initial UK sales will be of the PV5  L2/H1 model across Cargo and Crew derivatives, while the Chassis Cab Weill be available in L2 form – further versions will follow in 2026.

The PV5 Cargo L2/H1 offers up to 247 miles range with a payload of up to 790kg and a 4.4 cubic metre cargo volume.

The two battery options will enable buyers to favour payload or range. The standard range 51.5kWh battery pack provides a greater payload due to being lighter in weight, while the long range 71.2kWh battery pack adds range but reduces cargo payload.

Both packs power a single motor on the front wheels, of 89.4kW with the 51.5kWh pack and 120kW with the 71.2kWh version – both also produce 250Nm of torque.

Fast-charging at 400V will be available on all PV5 variants, connecting to a 150kW charger replenishing either battery from 10 to 80% in less than 30 minutes.

Extras on Plus models include heated front seats and steering wheel, wireless phone charging, electric folding door mirrors and extra ADAs technology including blind-spot collision, safe exit and rear cross-traffic collision warnings.

The £27,645 pricing buys the PV5 Cargo in Essential trim with the standard-range battery, rising to £30,145 with the long-range battery. Both will also will qualify for the current Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) Plug-in Van Grant (PIVG) that reduces the price of each by up to £5,000.
