Dacia has updated the Spring electric vehicle (EV) with performance enhancements, while introducing a £3,750 self-funded grant.
The updated Spring starts from £12,240 and the £3,750 grant is also available to finance customers.
Dacia has replaced the 45PS and 65PS motors with 70PS and 100PS motor options.
The entry-level model has 70PS, while customers can upgrade to the Spring Extreme Electric 100 for an additional £1,000.
The battery now has a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistry, for a range of up to 140 miles.
It is the first Renault Group model to use LFP technology, which provides better thermal safety, better longevity and lower manufacturing costs.
All models now have a 40kW DC charger, allowing the Spring to charge from 20% to 80% in 29 minutes.
Other standard equipment includes a seven-inch digital driver’s display, cruise control and air conditioning.
Extreme Electric 100 models gain vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, electric rear windows, front and rear parking sensors and a reversing camera.
Luke Broad, brand director for the UK at Dacia, said: “With the introduction of our Dacia Electric Car Grant, it makes buying and owning a Spring even more affordable.
“We’re in the business of making electric mobility accessible for all, and with our track record of delivering best-in-class value for best-in-class cars, it really doesn’t require a leap of faith to go electric.”
Dacia has tuned the Spring, optimising the suspension and brakes to make it feel more secure and composed.
The updated Spring is open for orders now, while first deliveries are expected in spring 2026.
An additional colour, Seafoam, has joined the range.
Personal contract purchase (PCP) offers start at £129 per month, with a £2,776 customer deposit.
