Drax Electric vehicles has installed electric (EV) charging infrastructure at the UK headquarters of Werfen, a manufacturer of in-vitro diagnostic medical devices and NHS supplier.
The installation will enable Werfen to electrify its fleet, and will help with the NHS’ net zero targets.
Kiran Naidu, UK technical services manager at Werfen, said: “With Drax, it was a different conversation immediately – less of a sales pitch and more of a consultation.”
To implement the EV infrastructure, Drax conducted a site survey, managed capacity upgrade discussions with distribution network operators (DNO), and designed a network of fast chargers, each of which are capable of charging two vehicles at a time.
Drax also implemented its My Electric Vehicles portal, allowing Werfen to track cost savings, and CO2 reduction progress.
Naomi Nye, head of sales at Drax Electric Vehicles, said: “Our approach with Werfen exemplifies how proper site assessment and DNO collaboration can create more efficient infrastructure solutions.”
“By understanding their actual usage patterns, we designed a cost-effective charging network that delivers exactly what they need while providing a platform for future growth.”
Werfen plans to implement charging facilities in every parking space, and implement fast chargers for visitors.
Naomi Thompson, facilities manager at Werfen, said: “During installation, the Drax team was very considerate and slick – they just got on with things without fuss.”
