THERE’S an easy drive version of Honda’s CR-V SUV from next year. For the first time, there will be an automatic option for the diesel.
At the same time, there is a new smoother appearance to the styling.
The changes to the Honda CR-V will be introduced from January 2010. They include an uprated diesel engine which now produces 150PS (up 10PS) and torque of 350Nm at 2000rpm (up 10Nm). The fuel economy and CO2 emission data is not yet available.
The diesel can be be paired with either manual transmission or a new five-speed automatic gearbox manufactured in-house by Honda. The new auto can also be ordered on petrol CR-V models.
At the same time, there’s a revised look for the CR-V. This includes new front bumper and grille; revised rear bumper; new-look alloy wheels; upgraded fabrics and plastics inside; and improved sound deadening around the engine and cabin to make the CR-V quieter and more relaxing.
Pricing for the upgraded CR-V will be available closer to the car’s launch.
