IT seems like the only way to address poor driving is expensive personal tuition which is based on general principles and brief observation.

However, with the Driving Doctor’s new online software feedback and coaching system, for example, the ‘black box’ telematics provides a more consistent measure of everyday driving, where drivers can be monitored and educated at the same time, enabling a whole new level of safety, efficiency, corporate responsibility and risk management.

The Driving Doctor has been designed for fleets, insurers, vehicle leasing companies, telematics service providers and OEMs. The software transforms raw telematics data into proactive and targeted coaching messages, support programmes and remedial campaigns, all delivered online and direct to the driver.

Created by company CEO Paul Ripley, the content is based on 40 years of experience in driver training and in-depth research into behavioural change techniques and gamification.

The interactive system addresses driver weaknesses, changes attitudes, encourages improvement, develops driving skills and most importantly, enhances safety behind the wheel.

It’s targeted at the drivers who need help, the system minimises accidents, repairs and legal risk and increases efficiency by reducing the costs of excessive fuel consumption, insurance premiums and vehicle wear and tear.

The software supports compliance with stringent Health and Safety Executive (HSE) guidelines helps to avoid company prosecutions, potential fines and even imprisonment.

The guidelines can also protect human and material resources, enhance risk reduction policies, CRM programmes and reinforces reputation management.
