AFTER 60 years together, Citroen and its luxury sub-brand DS have separated. During that time numerous iconic models have been born out of that partnership and 2015 marks the beginning and first full year of the two French brand’s going at it alone.
DS has already hit the ground running and introduced its first cars with the assistance of its former parent company in the shape of the facelifted DS3 and DS4 – formerly known as the Citroen DS3 and Citroen DS4.
The end of this well-known partnership is the biggest change since the brand was launched all of those years ago and with it, we’ll see a tidal wave of change and a comprehensive rebranding of DS.
DS models to get distinctive badge
The DS3 and DS4 are the first models to have been introduced since the two brands split. Although know only know as DS models, mystifyingly both still wear the Citroen chevron badge on the front as well as the rear.
That is all set to change however. From 2015 all new models that will be launched by DS will wear their own distinctive DS branding on the nose. This is just one of a handful of ways in which DS will attempt to distance themselves from Citroen.
