Devon-based uPVC superstore, Exeter Window Store, has added an electric Renault Trucks E-Tech Trafic Red EDITION to its compact fleet, marking the business’s first step into electric mobility and furthering its longstanding relationship with Renault Trucks.

The vehicle, supplied by Elliot Tratt at Sparks Commercial Services, forms part of a two-van update which also includes a diesel Renault Trucks Master Red EDITION with a dropside body. The move is designed to balance operational needs with sustainability goals.

The E-Tech Trafic, featuring a R75 electric motor and a 52kWh lithium-ion battery, delivers a real-life range of up to 150 miles. With zero emissions and low-noise performance, the van is ideal for urban deliveries in regulated zones such as those in and around Exeter.

According to George Otton, branch manager at Exeter Window Store: “We’ve always used Renault Trucks because the service is excellent and efficient. Elliot at Sparks, in particular, is brilliant – quick with quotes, on the ball with order updates, and genuinely can’t do enough to help us out.”

Chosen specifically for last-mile operations, the electric van is used for short local trips. “For short local trips, it’s absolutely spot-on. The range lasts us most of the week, and we just plug it in when it gets back to base,” Otton said.

The E-Tech Trafic Red EDITION comes with standard features including an 8″ multimedia display with wireless smartphone replication and a wireless smartphone charger. It has also been fitted with a rear-mounted reversing camera and front, rear and side parking radars for additional safety and convenience.

The van is charged on-site, aligning well with the firm’s predictable mileage and delivery schedules. Otton added: “As a business, we’re always looking for ways to do things better for the environment and society. This electric van is just one of several changes we’re rolling out in the coming months.”
