Farizon has unveiled two new versions of its battery-electric SV large van, showcasing the platform’s versatility with the launch of a seven-seat taxi and a multi-passenger Combi.
Both models were revealed at the recent Hong Kong Auto Expo and will be offered first in the Chinese market.
The SV taxi has already secured a significant order, with Hong Kong operator Big Bee Taxi committing to 1,000 units.
Designed with passenger comfort and practicality in mind, the model features power sliding side doors with a 900mm opening, a hidden B-pillar and a cabin step height of 408mm for easier access.
At the rear, wide double doors reveal 630 litres of luggage capacity, enough to accommodate six 20-inch suitcases.
Inside, the taxi offers three rows of seating for seven passengers, a cabin height of 1340mm, and practical features such as USB Type-C ports, cupholders and storage compartments.
The SV Combi is aimed at fleet operators needing a mix of cargo capacity and passenger space. It can be configured with five or six seats, while the ultra-low platform height of 520mm and hidden B-pillar design make for easier entry. Cargo volumes stand at 3.8 m³ for the L1 model at 5 metres in length and 5 m³ for the longer L2 variant at 5.5 metres.
Both models are built on Farizon’s GXA-M platform, which uses Cell-to-Pack (CTP-S) battery technology to increase body rigidity by 20% compared with traditional battery module structures.
The SV taxi offers a range of up to 370km, while the Combi can travel up to 319km. Fast charging from 20% to 80% takes 30 minutes.
Although these new variants are initially limited to China, Farizon said it is assessing global opportunities as part of its wider roll-out of the SV van range.
