Faster, lighter more economical 911 Turbo

SUCCESSFUL entrepreneurs have a new Porsche 911 to choose from.

The next generation Porsche 911 Turbo goes on sale in November. This follows a public unveiling at the Frankfurt Motor Show, Germany, in September.

The latest Porsche 911 Turbo promises greater fuel economy – up to 24.8mpg – combined with blistering pace: 0-62mph in a warp-factor 3.4 seconds.

However, most entrepreneurs will be more interested in the 911 Turbo’s new 3.8-litre power unit, delivering 500hp.

The 911 Turbo’s new engine features direct fuel injection and twin turbochargers with variable turbine geometry.

There’s the option of a seven-speed PDK double-clutch gearbox; and, for the first time, F1-style paddle-shift technology for the steering wheel. The right paddle shifts up; the left paddle is for shifting down.

In conjunction with the optional Sport Chrono Package Turbo, both the paddle-shift steering wheel and the PDK steering wheel with its shift buttons feature integrated displays for Launch Control and the Sport/SportPlus mode.

The next generation Porsche 911 Turbo goes on sale from November 21 2009. It is available as both a Coup
