The Fiat 500 Hybrid will return in late 2025, with a new model based on the Fiat 500e electric vehicle (EV).
Similar to the previous 500 Hybrid, which was discontinued last year, the only powertrain option will be a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine, with a six-speed manual gearbox, supplemented by a 12v hybrid system.
Hatchback and cabrio body styles will be offered, and production is set to begin in November.
Pre-production vehicles are currently being assembled, and 5,000 units are set to be produced by the end of the year.
This came after 500e sales failed to meet expectations, causing production at the Mirafiori plant to be paused multiple times.
The Hybrid will be produced side-by-side with the EV, in the Mirafiori plant, which currently undergoing renovations, allowing it to produce an additional 100,000 units per year.
Previous 500 Hybrid models were produced in the Tychy plant in Poland.
Olivier François, CEO at Fiat, said: “Bringing the 500 Hybrid back to Mirafiori is a promise kept—a win driven by a committed team that chose to bet on the customer and the future.
“This factory is more than just a production site; it’s FIAT’s home, the beating heart of a story that began in 1957 with Dante Giacosa and today stands as a hub of Stellantis innovation in Europe.
“Our industrial plan for Italy puts Mirafiori and the 500 at the center of our revival. In November, we’ll celebrate this milestone with the special edition ‘500 Torino’ – a tribute to the city, its workers, and our roots.
“Turin means FIAT, and FIAT means Turin. That’s why the official launch will take place here, in our city.”
500 Hybrid models will be equipped with a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).
