THE Fiat Tipo name is back after a ten-year break in the shape of a stylish middleweight company car focused saloon.

Fiat Tipo returns:

  • Fiat Aegea Project concept will take historic Fiat Tipo name;
  • Roomy and practical, the Tipo is a member of the “Functional Family”;
  • Four engines with an emphasis on value-for-money and a straightforward model range;
  • Tipo saloon yet to be confirmed for the UK market.

First previewed by Fiat as the  Aegea Project unveiled in May at the Istanbul Motor Show, the Tipo awakens the historic Fiat name has been used since its earliest days producing cars.

The new saloon measures 4.5m in length, 1.78m in width and 1.48m in height, with a wheelbase of 2.64m and boot capacity of 510 litres, meaning it has plenty of space for five passengers and their luggage with ease.

Engines available include two MultiJet II turbo-diesel engines and two petrol units with power outputs ranging from 95hp to 120hp, offered with manual and automatic transmissions.

Inside, the new Tipo comes with the latest technological features including Fiat Chrysler’s touch-screen Uconnect infotainment system with hands-free Bluetooth calling and audio streaming; a rear parking camera and TomTom satellite navigation.

UK customers are still waiting to hear whether the Tipo saloon will come to our shores anytime soon.
