Longer than a Punto, and as wide as a Bravo, the 500L is a long way from the Fiat 500 that Italians used to pick up and move when they needed a parking space

As well as the base 1.4-litre petrol (95 PS), there will be three other engine choices; a two-cylinder TwinAir 0.9-litre petrol (105 PS), a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel (85 PS) with manual or MTA transmission, and a 1.6-litre MultiJet diesel (105 PS). Stop/start is standard with TwinAir and MultiJet engines. Prices at the top end extend to £18,890 for a 1.6 diesel in Lounge trim. There should be plenty of tax efficient choices for company car drivers.

According to Elena Bernardelli, marketing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK. “Fiat 500L represents a new chapter in the history of the remarkable Fiat 500 range and we are confident that we are offering a fun yet versatile new family member that oozes style and personality, at competitive prices.”
