KIA is set to unveil sportier GT versions of the cee’d hatchback and pro-cee’d coupe at the Geneva Motor Show.

The company hasn’t previously offered out-and-out hot hatches or performance models but that’s all about to change with these new cars designed to take on the likes of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Ford Focus ST.

The cee’d and pro_cee’d GT were designed in Europe and owe their sporty looks to LED daytime running lights, a dual exhaust, Recaro seats, eighteen-inch alloys and red brake calipers.

Under the bonnet, there’s a turbocharged 1.6-litre GDI (gasoline direct injection) petrol engine producing 204PS and 26 Nm, enough to get the cee’d and pro_cee’d GT to 62mph in 7.9 seconds.

Company car buyers will have to wait for Kia to publish a full price list nearer launch date for the GT models to see whether the tax and other numbers add up for business use.
