The S-Class Coupe could upstage even the new S-Class saloon. It’ll make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next month

MERCEDES has already grabbed plenty of attention with the latest technology-packed version of the S-Class saloon but now it seems set to cause an even bigger stir with the arrival of the sleek and powerful new Mercedes S-Class Coupe.

as exclusive as it gets – the ultimate in aesthetic sportiness

As well as advanced features already familiar from the saloon, such as touch-pad controls and head-up displays, the coupe is available with an new version of Magic Body Control suspension with curve tilting function, and the option of “expressive” headlamps incorporating dozens of Swarovski crystals.

The curve tilting function leans the S-Class Coupe into bends in the manner of a motorcycle, reducing lateral acceleration and making for a more comfortable ride.

The S 500 Coupe has a 4663 cc V8 biturbo engine that’s good for 455 S and 700Nm, and Mercedes has produced a special exhaust system with flaps that open and close in order to produce a sportier sound.

Mercedes has a long history of producing big coupes in this bracket, but they haven’t always been designated as S-Class models – most recently the CL models filled this role – but this new model is being tied more closely to the saloon both through badging and design.
