Another new electric light-commercial vehicle (LCV) option is on its way to Europe with the unveiling of a purpose-built battery-electric platform by European brand Flynt. Rather than set up its own production base, the Dutch-based company is following the route of placing its EV platform with an established manufacturer. In the case of the new LCV it has partnered with MiracoMotor – a dedicated eLCV spin-off backed by leading Chinese EV manufacturer GAC Group.

“We’re not a carmaker in the traditional sense,” said Dr. Daniel Kirchert, one of the founders of Flynt. “We’ve built a smarter, more flexible model – one that puts customer needs first, and uses the best global technology to deliver world-class electric vans faster and more cost-effectively than legacy players ever could.”

According to fellow founder Rogan Liu the decision to partner with China’s leading EV ecosystem was both strategic and essential as the nation has established a leading position in EV technology. “By integrating this advanced EV technology into a vehicle specifically designed for European fleets, we’re able to achieve a level of efficiency, reliability, and performance that directly translates into lower total cost of ownership,” Liu said. While using Chinese EV technology, the new vehicle has been designed in Europe and targeted at urban, regional and last-mile operation. It will offer a WLTP range of up to 300 miles and 200kW charging going from 30 to 80% charged in 20 minutes. Front, rear and all-wheel drive versions will be available, with payloads of up to 1630kg and a 8.7 to 16.5 cubic metre loadspace. The prototype vehicle was unveiled in China in January and is expected in Europe in the summer of this year. The official launch into the brand’s initial European target markets will begin in 2026, ramping up to a presence in 26 markets.
