What’s not?
- We like the extra leather on the dashboard and door caps, but for a £30,000+ Mondeo that’s designed to take on premium rivals, there’s too much cheap-feeling shiny plastic on show.
- The centre console is dominated by the Sync 2 touchscreen multimedia system, which controls most of the important functions on the car. The way it’s fitted looks a bit aftermarket to us, the touchscreen is still as slow to respond inour opinion.
- The part analogue, part LCD instruments fitted as standard are hard to read at a glance in my opinion.
- Three-spoke leather-trimmed steering wheel is nice to hold; shame its buttons are small and poorly marked.
- Yes, the Mondeo Vignale is fully-loaded, with many unique aftersales benefits, including a 24-hour helpline, but compared to rivals, £32,045 is still a lot to pay for a Mondeo
Verdict for the Ford Mondeo Vignale Estate 2.0 TDCi 180PS AWD Powershift Auto
If you like the idea of a Mondeo on your company, but the range-topping Titanium isn’t enough – then, the Vignale will have real appeal.
For all that extra equipment and special Vignale trim, Ford are aiming for a monthly figure under £300, for this 2.0-litre TDCI 180 AWD Powershift auto diesel – which is impressive and according to a Ford Spokesperson, should only be a bit more than with the previous range-topping Titanium
