A NEW, free online service, maintenance and repair (SMR) portal is being offered by Fuel Card Services to its 55,000 customer organisations plus all businesses across the UK.

Using epyx’s 1link Service Network technology, MyService.Expert will provide a single point of access to a network of thousands of garages nationwide and deliver typical savings of up to 30%.

Other important advantages include pre-authorisation of work for cost clarity, centralised billing and dialy reminders for MOTs and servicing.

Tom Cosway, head of commercial business at Fuel Card Services, said: “MyService.Expert allows businesses of all sizes to buy SMR services in a manner that previously was only open to the largest fleets with benefits such as a nationwide garage network, advantageous buying terms and consolidated billing.

“However, the new maintenance platform changes the picture completely. Finding the best supplier is done through our online directory, you will authorise all work before it takes place, so you know exactly what every job will cost you while accessing our discounts, and you’ll receive a single detailed bill every month.

“For many businesses, SMR – and the role it plays in ensuring duty of care – is an ongoing headache and the new platform solves potentially all of the problems they regularly encounter at a stroke.”

Cosway said that he expected take up of the platform to be substantial across the Fuel Card Services customer base as well as attracting many more, new clients.

“The advantages of buying SMR in this way are numerous and the sign up process to make use of the platform takes moments, so we expect penetration to be high.

“Each customer will also be assigned a dedicated account manager with a support team providing technical support about work authorisation, if needed.”

Tim Meadows, commercial director at epyx, added: “We have been increasingly working with third parties providing our SMR platform technology and Fuel Card Services is one of the largest so far.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with them on this deal. The MyService.Expert project is an exciting development that we believe will bring genuine benefits to many fleets.”
