School and NHS transport contractor HATS Group has been named a Safety Champion at the 2026 Geotab Innovation Awards.

HATS Group was the only UK fleet to win, joining companies from the US, Canada, Chile and Australia.

The company reduced road traffic accidents by 78% by implementing Geotab and Lynx cameras, leading Geotab to present it with the Safety Champion award.

Geotab said that the cameras cut seat belt violations and reduced vehicle downtime.

HATS Group operates a fleet of 940 vehicles, including ambulances, shuttle buses and cars.

Across all 19 award winners, $19m was saved in fuel, maintenance and insurance costs throughout 2025, across a total of 35,000,000 miles.

Geotab said that none of the winners had a preventable accident last year.

Neil Cawse, founder and CEO at Geotab, said: “35 million safe miles and $19 million in savings are the result of deliberate, data-driven culture.

“This year’s Geotab Innovation Award winners demonstrate that when you empower people with the right technology, the returns are significant.

“We celebrate their achievements and recognize the contributions being made to set the bar for the industry.”
