Hive will support food redistribution charity The Felix Project, providing charging for its electric van fleet over the Christmas and new year period.

The Felix Project redistributes high quality surplus food that would otherwise go to waste to more than 1,200 community organisations and schools.

In 2024, The Felix Project redistributed the equivalent of 38,000,000 meals.

It operates a fleet of 27 electric vans across London, which Hive will charge over the next few weeks.

Susan Wells, director of EV at Hive, said: “We hugely admire the incredible work The Felix Project is doing.

“Partnering with them to charge their electric vehicle fleet is a perfect example of how technology can power positive change.

“Every charged van helps deliver surplus food to those who need it most – turning clean energy into real support for families across London.”

Will Savage, head of corporate partnerships at The Felix Project, said: “Having an EV fleet has helped us keep transport costs down, which means more resources can go directly to feeding families.

“Winter is a particularly challenging time for families, we recently found almost 1 in 4 (23%) of working parents in the UK have turned to a food support service in the last year to help them put food on the table so keeping food moving to where it’s needed most is vital and partnerships like our one with Hive are very welcome.”
