Honda 1.6 Diesel CR-V: prices race in at top-end Ford Focus level

SO, how do you fancy one of Honda’s spacious SUVs – the CR-V – for the same price as a top-end Focus?

And company car tax from £69 a month?

That’s what’s on offer with the new Honda 1.6 diesel CR-V prices starting at £22,800 on the road.

The new Honda 1.6 diesel CR-V prices range from this S model entry level point through to the top end SR at £26,825.

There are three trim levels: S, SE and SR. The Honda 1.6 diesel CR-V will be in dealerships from October.

Honda 1.6 diesel CR-V prices at a glance

  • P11D from £22,745
  • Company car tax from £69
  • 62.8mpg fuel economy
  • 1.6 diesel engine
  • 120PS power/350Nm torque
  • No road tax for first year
  • Up to 800 miles on one tank of fuel
  • Practical interior with load space up to 1669 litres
  • Built in Britain at Honda’s Swindon plant

Thanks to the fuel-efficient 1.6 diesel engine, which we have already seen in the Honda Civic, and two-wheel drive powertrain the Honda 1.6 diesel CR-V emits just 119g/km CO2 in S and SE grades. Fuel economy is 62.8mpg.

Thanks to its larger 18 inch alloys, the Honda 1.6 D CR-V SR goes into a higher tax band with CO2 emissions of 124g/km.

“The introduction of this new engine to the CR-V is an appealing proposition in the competitive SME company car market,” said Lee Wheeler, corporate sales manager at Honda. “We expect it to feature on more SME choice lists as it slips below the 120g/km barrier and is 2WD.

“The car’s combination of impressive fuel economy and agile performance, combined with the practicality and luggage space the CR-V is famed for, plus Honda’s acknowledged reputation for reliability, means it’s a car which will catch the eye of business car managers and small fleet company car choosers,” added Lee.
