Honda CR-V
You won’t feel short-changed on performance – and because it’s lighter, the car is more entertaining to drive

What’s hot

  • Let’s start with the company car tax figures: at 18% tax banding you’ll pay around £78 a month in company car tax at the standard rate (assuming a price of £23,500). Pretty good for a car this size…
    Honda CR-V
It’s an SUV so the driving position is commanding. You’ll have to pay extra for sat nav though
  • …And good for employers, too – there’s less National Insurance to pay
  • You won’t need to visit the fuel station many times either. With 62.8mpg and a fuel tank of 58 litres you have the potential of 800 miles between fill ups
  • You don’t feel shortchanged by the engine – it’s a small engine in a big car, but the 300Nm of torque whisks the CR-V along
  • In fact, the lighter weight and changed suspension settings has made the CR-V a more entertaining partner on the twisty bits…
  • …while it manages to smooth out bumps, thumps and road imperfections without disturbing driver or passengers
  • It’s a practical five-door estate car when you need it, too
  • And the high up seating position provides a commanding view of the road
  • Honda’s famed reliability: you know the CR-V won’t let you down

Avoid the 18″ alloys on the top spec model unless you want to pay more tax

What’s not

  • Satellite navigation is an optional extra at SE grade
  • 18 inch alloys on the higher spec SR model not only push up the tax band but is to the detriment of ride composure
  • If you need to tow anything, you’re better off sticking to the 2.2 diesel with its four-wheel drive
  • It’s manual only – auto only available in 2.2 model
