Honda business car leasing rates

To help SMEs get a handhold on costs, Honda goes to market with headline offers a month before the car is in the showroom.

“Those headline rentals also give an indication of where those cars sit in the market even if we find buyers don’t actually buy the headline rate rental of 10,000 miles a year,” says Lee. So what is available?

Honda CR-V 1.6 D

  • 1.6 S from £250 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum
  • 1.6 SE from £270 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum
  • 1.6 SR from £290 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum

Honda Civic 1.6 D

  • 1.6 D SE from £195 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum
  • 1.6 ES from £215 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum
  • 1.6 EX from £265 + VAT 6+35 10k per annum

“Are they more driven by lifestyle? If so we have the hatchback Civic. If someone wants a bigger vehicle and the SUV experience but with hatchback running costs, then we have the new CR-V 2WD model, which can cater for somebody who is currently driving a bigger saloon or SUV – the car sits across several sectors.

“And by end of this year we can talk to customers about an estate car – again powered by an Earth Dream Technology unit. With the new Honda Civic Tourer we can offer 625 litres of boot space – which is like driving a much bigger estate car – but in a more compact body.

“So our conversation with a local business customer is to start with Earth Dream Technology and how it’s delivered through a number of different models.”

To fully push home the advantage of Earth Dream Technology and what it means in reality, dealers have been displaying an MPG challenge board for the Civic 1.6 D, continues Lee.

“The most recent I saw this week, we had a business customer in Glasgow that returned 93mpg. It’s not unusual. In the office we regularly have people that can get over 100mpg. Now not every journey will get that – but even if you drive as uneconomically as you can you’ll still get high 50s to 60s.”

That’s certainly our experience of the Honda Civic 1.6D – it has outstanding economy: Honda Civic 1.6 iDTEC – 60mpg on a bad M25 day.

The week-long test drive

If your experience of asking for a test drive is a quick whizz round the block with the salesman sitting next to you, then you’ll be pleasantly surprised when you walk into a Honda dealer.

Because there’s a week-long test drive offer. I’ve not heard of another car manufacturer offering such an extensive car test period.

“We provide a seven day demo,” explains Lee. “This guarantees that a customer drives over the weekend so they will be driving it with the people that really matter: the family.

“Typically an SME company car driver considering a Honda is more likely to have a family. So it’s acknowledging the test drive must recognise the other person in the decision making process as well!”
