A new Which? Car report says Honda is the most reliable car manufacturer.
Honda had a reliability index rating of 85%.
Honda was closely followed into second place by Toyota (84%).
The rest of the top six were all Japanese: Daihatsu (83%); Lexus (83%); Mazda (83%); Subaru (83%); and Suzuki (83%).
Honda models won three categories: Supermini, Honda Jazz; Large Car, Honda Civic Hybrid; and MPV, Honda FR-V.
However, it was not all plain-sailing for Honda. The all-new Civic hatchback found itself at the bottom of the Medium Car chart – possibly as a result of the recall on the handbrake.
The Which? Car reliability report found that premium German marques – Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz – all had average reliability scores. Although the Audi TT was best in the Sports & coupe category; and the Mercedes E-Class was best Luxury car. Volkswagen was rated as poor.
Honda dealers were also rated second best to deal with, just behind luxury marque Lexus.
