The Hyundai Inster, the Korean brand’s first small electric SUV, will also be available in an off-road-styled Inster Cross version.
The standard care will arrive on UK roads before the end of 2024 at prices starting from £23,500 (story here) and Hyundai has now unveiled a version with “a more outdoor-focused” look, though it won’t be made available with all-wheel-drive.
Elements differentiating the Inster Cross from its siblings include bumpers, skin plates, a bespoke design of 17-inch alloy wheel, embossed black body cladding and a roof rack.
The car’s six exterior colour choices will include a bespoke option, Amazonas Greet Matte, with an inside trim of lime yellow and grey cloth, plus lime-yellow detailing on the dashboard.
The Inster Cross will generally mirror the specification of the standard car, notably an extensive package of driving aids including highway driving assistance, smart cruise control and forward collision avoidance.
Pratcial aspects of the car will include the facility to fold all four seats flat, Â walk-through access in the front row and 50/50 split second-row seats that can slide and recline.
Hyundai states that the Cross will boast a range of up to 220 miles, which equates to the 49kWh version of the standard car and can be recharged from 10 to 80% in 30 minutes, but it has not yet been confirmed as to whether the off-road themed variant will also be offered with the 42kWh battery – this has a quoted range of 203 miles.
Production of the Inster Cross will begin before the end of 2024 in Korea but Hyundai is not yet revealing a UK on-sale date or prices – the 49kWh version of the standard car starts at £26,750.
