7 December 2018

HYUNDAI is looking for a new Managing Director following the news that Tony Whitehorn has decided to stand down.

Whitehorn brings to a close 13 years that has seen the brand expand from a retail brand to a significant fleet player as well. It also saw him rise to become President & CEO of Hyundai Motor UK – the first non-Korean so to do.

Whitehorn will be remembered for his quick thinking to make Hyundai central to the Government’s Scrappage Scheme.

The company expanded rapidly from 28,000 units a year in 2008 to 56,000 in 2009 as a result. Its sales velocity has continued. Sales were over 93,000 units in 2017.

Whitehorn will continue as Executive Advisor for the first part of 2019 to assist with the transition to the new management Hyundai confirmed.
