Isuzu has launched the D-Max V-Cross Commercial, a D-Max variant which is classified under the ‘Plant and Machinery’ Capital Allowance, giving it 100% writing down status.

The model is subject to flat-rate Benefit-in-Kind (BiK) of £4,020 and retains full VAT reclaimable status.

In April, double and extended cab pick-up trucks were reclassified as company cars, increasing BiK costs.

The D-Max V-Cross Commercial is a two-seater, with the rear passenger area permanently converted into a load zone, to ensure compliance with ‘Plant and Machinery’ regulations and lower BiK.

Standard equipment includes a lightweight canopy, a towbar, a bed liner, rear passenger door tints and protective seat covers, in addition to the standard specification of a V-Cross model.

All vehicles are equipped with an automatic gearbox.

As with other D-Max models, the V-Cross Commercial has a 1-tonne payload capacity, a 3.5-tonne towing capacity and four wheel drive.

Prices start at £41,995 excluding VAT.

Alan Able, managing director at Isuzu UK, said: “The new Isuzu D-Max V-Cross Commercial is the perfect solution for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), trades, farmers and construction professionals who need a tax-efficient pick-up that works as hard as they do.

“We’ve listened closely to feedback from our loyal customer base, who told us they wanted all the key attributes of a rugged 4×4 pick-up combined with the premium features of our flagship model.

“The V-Cross Commercial delivers exactly that, while also ensuring it is built as a serious, permanent commercial vehicle that businesses can rely on with confidence and make use of the commercial vehicle benefits.”

As it weighs under 2,040kg, the truck is also subject to passenger car speed limits on dual carriageways and motorways.
