Yes, it’s a bold design that continues to turn heads and while this latest shape XJ was actually born in 2009, it’s to JLR’s credit that it still manages to look and feel so modern.

The XJ line up is also reshuffled for 2016, now made up of the XJ Luxury; XJ Premium Luxury; XJ Portfolio; XJ-R Sport and XJR, with this Autobiography then slotting in at the top. Inevitably, there’s a premium to go with that Autobiography badge and it’s up to company senior managers to ascertain whether it’s ultimately worth the ask.

Just as those same business users might want to fact check the obvious Mercedes-BMW-Lexus-Audi opposition before signing on the dotted line for this newly fettled Jag. In the big picture, however, the Jaguar XJ remains a compelling and competitive player in the prestige game and that’s what counts.
