New Kia appointment: David Ovenden sales director

KIA has a new sales director on board: David Ovenden.

David, who is responsible for Kia’s 42 sales  staff, takes over from former sales director Yaser Shabsogh following the latter’s promotion to commercial director.

David, who has been entrusted with developing the Kia dealer network and the delivery of sales channels, including company car fleet sales, will report to Yaser.

“The experience that David will bring to the sales team and the company as a whole will be of great benefit to us,” commented Yaser Shabsogh on the appointment of David Ovenden as the new sales director.

David joins Kia from the VW Group where the 50-year-old has amassed 23 years’ experience, most recently as head of planning group services, and before that as head of operations at Skoda.

Married with four children, David said:  “I look forward to helping Kia reach its sales ambition of 100,000 cars a year.”
