Kia has revealed the EV2, a B-segment electric vehicle (EV) with up to 278 miles of range and its smallest electric model yet.
The car was revealed today at the Brussels Motor Show and will enter production at the Žilina plant in Slovakia in February 2026.
Two battery options will be offered, 42.2kWh and 61kWh, with 197 and 278 miles of range respectively.
The EV2 has a 400V electrical system, allowing it to DC rapid charge from 10% to 80% in around 30 minutes.
Cars with the smaller battery will have 147PS, while Kia has not confirmed the power output of 61kWh models.
Kia said the EV2’s interior is inspired by the ‘Picnic Box’ concept, with fabric-rich materials, a wraparound dashboard and intuitive design.
It is available with five seats, or in a four seater configuration with sliding and reclining rear seats.
The boot has up to 403 litres of space with the rear sets slid fully forward. Five-seat models have a 362 litre boot.
EV2s also have a 15 litre front boot.
All models will have three interior screens: a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a 5.3-inch climate control system.
Entry-level cars will have the ccNC Lite infotainment system, with fewer features to support a lower starting price.
Higher-end models will gain the ccNC system found in other Kia models.
Equipment available on the EV2 includes Digital Key, Smart Cruise Control 2, Remote Smart Parking Assist and alloy wheels of up to 19 inches.
Vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-grid (V2L) will also be offered, although Kia said that V2G is not yet available in the UK.
Soohang Chang, president and CEO at Kia Europe, said: “The Kia EV2 represents a significant step in making electric mobility accessible to a broader audience.
“As our most compact EV, it blends bold design with cutting-edge advancements in charging, connectivity, and safety.
“Building the EV2 in Slovakia reinforces our commitment to Europe and ensures this model reflects the needs and expectations of drivers across the continent.”
Sjoerd Knipping, chief operating officer at Kia Europe, said: “Every element of the EV2 has been engineered with European lifestyles in mind.
“Its compact size, generous interior space, and advanced technology make it easy to integrate into everyday life.
“By bringing upper-segment features into an entry electric model, the EV2 broadens the appeal of electric driving.”
