Kia has confirmed that the EV4 and PV5 Passenger are the brand’s first vehicles to qualify for the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant.
All EV4 Air and PV5 Passenger Essential and Plus models, across both battery options, now meet the criteria for Band 2 support, providing £1,500 off the on-the-road price.
The grant eligibility aligns with Kia’s strategy to expand access to electric mobility, with both models backed by the brand’s seven-year or 100,000-mile warranty, extended to eight years for the high-voltage battery.
Paul Philpott, president and chief executive of Kia UK, said: “We are delighted that Kia customers can now benefit from the UK Government’s Electric Car Grant.
“This milestone demonstrates our commitment to making electric mobility accessible, practical, and affordable.
“With the support of the grant, even more drivers can experience the innovation, reliability, and sustainability that Kia electric vehicles have become known for.
“This eligibility comes at an important time, as our nationwide network of PBV Centres become operational, delivering the new award-winning PV5 to customers.”
The EV4, the first Kia EV produced at the company’s Slovakian plant, enters the electric hatchback segment with a maximum range of up to 388 miles with its 81.4kWh battery. The 58.3kWh variant offers up to 273 miles. The grant reduces the EV4 entry price to £33,245.
The PV5 Passenger, available through Kia’s new PBV Centres, offers seating for five with a choice of Standard Range and Long Range batteries providing up to 183 and 256 miles respectively.
A low 399mm step-in height aims to improve accessibility, and ADAS safety features are included as standard. With the grant applied, the PV5 Passenger starts at £31,495.
Kia has also introduced new quarterly offers, including a £3,000 finance deposit contribution on EV4 GT-Line and GT-Line S, with a further £1,000 applied to the Air grade alongside the grant.
All EV3 grades receive a £3,000 contribution, while the remainder of the EV range benefits from £1,500.
The Electric Car Grant applies only to electric cars that meet criteria covering emissions, range, sustainability and warranty support.
Brands must also hold Science Based Targets initiative verification for emissions reductions.
Both the EV4 and PV5 Passenger are available to order now with the grant applied.
