Kia Sportage Hybrid wins ‘Best hybrid compact SUV’ for second year in a row
2025 marks the second year the Sportage has won best hybrid Compact SUV, with the Toyota RAV4 taking second place.
Cars.com have named the Kia Sportage as the ‘Best hybrid compact SUV’, as part of their Best Hybrids for the Money list.
2025 marked the second year the Sportage has won in this category, with the Toyota RAV4 taking second place.
The ranking was based on an efficiency-to-cost ratio, based on the vehicle’s base price in the US, and its official combined MPG figure.
Only plug-in hybrids (PHEVs) were eligible to win.
Jennifer Geiger, news editor at Cars.com said: “The Kia Sportage Hybrid wins in the compact SUV category for its excellent combined mpg and attractive starting price.
“Factor in its roomy cabin and tech features, and it’s easy to see why it’s named on Cars.com’s list of Best Hybrid Compact SUV for the Money.”
Kia has since revealed the updated Sportage, which will go on sale next year, featuring updated styling and interior.
The 2026 Sportage will feature plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and internal combustion powertrains.
