Leapmotor has announced that the B10 Hybrid EV will start at £31,495, the same as the electric vehicle (EV) variant, although it does not benefit from the £1,500 ‘LEAP-GRANT’, while the EV does.
The B10 Hybrid EV is a plug-in hybrid (PHEV).
Orders will open in the summer along with first deliveries.
It offers a range of up to 559 miles, with an EV-only range of 50 miles.
Power comes from a 218PS electric motor mounted on the rear axle, along with an 18.8kWh battery.
The internal combustion engine (ICE), a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit, is not connected to the wheels but instead powers a 50kW generator, similar to Nissan’s e-POWER system.
Leapmotor said the battery can be charged from 30% to 80% in 20 minutes.
The B10 can accelerate to 62mph in 7.5 seconds, while the car’s suspension was tuned for European roads by Stellantis chassis engineers.
BiK is 7%, while the only optional extra offered is premium paint for £575.
Standard equipment includes a heated steering wheel, electric, heated and ventilated front seats, smartphone keyless entry, a 360-degree camera, a panoramic sunroof and an electric tailgate.
