Lexus has revealed pricing for the new front-wheel-drive version of its RZ electric SUV, the RZ 300e.

Costing from £49,995, the RZ 300e will go on sale alongside the existing all-wheel drive RZ 450e, with first deliveries in October.

The RZ 300e is powered by a single 150kW motor driving the front wheels, compared to the dual motor setup of the RZ 450e – this also gives the new model a slightly longer WLTP range of up to 297 miles (on the entry Urban trim), the 450e rated at 271 miles.

As with the 450e there are four trim levels, dubbed Urban, Premium, Premium Plus and Takumi versions to maximise the potential driving range. Urban models include 18-inch alloy wheels, single LED headlights with auto high beam, smart entry and front and rear parking sensors.

Dual-zone air conditioning is fitted along with a heated steering wheel and wireless smartphone charger while the multimedia system includes a 14-inch touchscreen and 10-speaker audio system, wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. Lexus connected services are also included.

In terms of safety the driver assistance systems extend to a Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Safe Exit Assist.

Premium variants cost £2300 more and add heated, eight-way power-adjustable front seats with two-way lumbar support on the driver’s and synthetic leather upholstery. The tailgate is powdered with a kick sensor for hands-free operation and there is also rear privacy glass and a panoramic roof.

Premium Plus specification, again costing another £2300, includes a Panoramic View Monitor, ventilated front seats, front radiant heaters, a memory setting for the driver’s seat and a head-up display.

The range-topping Takumi, a £4,500 price jump, gets more upmarket upholstery, 64-colour ambient lighting, a 13-speaker Mark Levinson Surround Sound audio system and a dimmable panoramic roof. The suspension is upgraded and adaptive high-beam headlamps and LED front fog and cornering lights included.

Options include 20-inch wheels (except on the Takumi which has them as standard) and two-tone paintwork on Premium Plus or Takumi versions.
