Licence Check has rolled out a series of powerful new features to its DAVIS Fleet platform, expanding its fleet management capabilities beyond compliance and licence checking to include defect reporting, downtime analysis, Benefit-in-Kind (BIK) taxation and fines management.

The updates, developed largely in response to client feedback, aim to provide fleet managers with deeper insights and more efficient tools to manage their operations.

Among the headline additions is Defect Reporting, fully integrated with the DAVIS Driver App, which enables drivers to carry out walk-around inspections, upload photographic evidence, add notes, and instantly report issues. Fleet managers can then categorise defects by severity and track remedial actions through to completion via the Defect Management dashboard.

Managers can also now share documents directly with drivers, such as fleet policy changes or emergency contact details, and receive e-signatures to confirm receipt.

A new BIK taxation tool provides rates up to 2029/30 across both 20% and 40% tax bands, automatically capturing key data such as CO2 emissions and EV range. This removes the need for manual input and keeps all taxation data in one centralised location.

The downtime reporting feature allows managers to track vehicle off-road time to assess reliability and potentially negotiate with manufacturers based on performance.

Licence Check has also introduced a fines management module, enabling fleet teams to log, assign and track penalties including speeding tickets, toll charges, parking fines and more. Repeat offenders and high-risk drivers can be identified, with all records archived for a minimum of three years for dispute resolution.

Keith Allen, managing director of Licence Check, said: “Our primary aim is to help fleet managers manage their fleets in a more cost effective, risk efficient and sustainable manner, and to move the DAVIS platform from what was widely known as a licence checking platform to a comprehensive fleet management offering for car and van fleet operators. These new features are the latest in a stream of new developments we have planned for DAVIS Fleet which consolidate vital fleet information into one integrated solution to allow fleet managers to do their job more effectively.”
